Feed US, 2019 - present, assorted produce, tattoo ink, dimensions varied upon installation
Various produce bought state side, but imported from Mexico, with images of the Rio Grande River (Texas/Mexico border) tattooed into fruit skin. Commentary on the levels of humanitarian contradiction surrounding the exchange of goods between these borders - specifically food that sustains life and meets a basic need - and the dissociation present. Ink’s permanence and a lime’s impermanence, one guaranteed a more substantial existence, speaks to the reality of power in globalization.
