IN HONOR OF
Ongoing series of masking tape objects in reference to all of the memories and mourning surrounding my great grandmother’s journey to the US. The presence of my own fingerprints speaks to the handling of all she lost, still, by those attached to her life in the present. This on-going series of work has been inspired by Elise Boulding’s idea that we all inhabit a 200 year present. My great grandmother is the oldest person I have personally ever known, who passed at 103 years old.
Each: 2022, masking tape kept from previously made works, artist’s fingerprints, charcoal
